Drew, notice I didn’t put MyChurch.org in the list :) I wanted to set MyChurch apart - its the only social network built around the church community as far as I can tell. We’re not in the race to become the “Christian Myspace”
Drew,
Thanks for including my site on the list. I just wanted to see if I could correct the web address to http://www.oaktreeidea.com. Like Mychurch.org (built around churches), we have tried to differentiate ourselves by targeting those that want to make a difference around the world through Christian social causes. Thanks again for including us on the list.

Oaktreeidea.com
[...] Web 2.0 is growing rapidly in cyberspace. I knew that, but I hadn’t realized how much it had done so for Christians until I found Joe’s blog through the church technology review blog. Joe has kept an eye on things (I’d like to know how) and has updated his list since it was reprinted by the church technology review. [...]
I don’t see ShoutLife, it actually seems to be the most active of the ones that I have tried.
I personally hope that some of the site either merge or go away. This is a pretty big list. The whole idea of social networks it to connect with people, but if the people are spread out over 20+ networks it does not seem nearly as effective to me.
Here’s a site filled with social ministry videos
holypal.com have been there for more than 2 years, created by a college student in his spare time, and was coded by a single indian programmer from scratch with 1 on 1 instructions on daily basis. after 2 years of its successful run, the creator thought the site became outdated and needed a new script, plus it was facing problems with all the scammers from Nigeria spamming the site. so the whole site was just deleted with ( close to 15000 accounts) and re-opened using ning asp service and offers more things like videos, tagging, web 2.0 customization, etc..
Please add MyGodlyPlace.com to your list. We have plugged by Yahoo! Finance and have a couple hundred members and are growing quickly. We offer prayers, socializing, videos, music, friends, classifieds, blogs, groups and alot more. As of today we rank #5 on Google search for “Christian Social Network”. We use phpFox as well, very good software for a Social Network, but we are working on our own software which will be exclusive to our site only.
[...] From where I sit, I look across to our founding team and see an entrepreneur that would have (1) continued to prayerfully consider getting started on his idea, or (2) paid a vendor far too much money to create a website that didn’t have the business issues properly vetted. It would have been only one of many “MySpace for Christians”. Instead, Mr. Sutton has defined a web site that should surpass anything similar. And, because of the hard work by only a handful (a total of about 30 participants flowing through the 2nd weekend with a core of about 10 — which sounds like a *real* startup, eh?) of hardworking volunteers, this company will actually be capable of a launch! [...]
I just came across this web page and find it very interesting. Some have said that we need less or more (Christian Networks) some have said that there is a race to be the Next Myspace. There has been even the mentioned about beening centered just to the church. Which I do agree would be nice to have a place to talk with other Christian…. But the one thing that I have not seen (and I have not went through each one of these so if there is one please correct me) how about a social network work that represents the Christian body trying to reach a lost world!!!Now that is something I would like to be part of. May God bless you all.
Todd
Thyspace.com is a cool one as well - teen oriented an operated bya youth pastor. Very edgy.
Hey,i was just wondering how i can get my website posted under,Other social networks
Hi there,
I have a Christian social networking site called 101christianspaces.com which we launched a few months back. It’s meant to run along side 101 free Christian dating service dedicated just to Christian singles as a way to connect, meet new friends etc as well as express yourself on the page pretty much like myspace allows. I hope you can include our Christian networking site as in 3 months it now has around 1300 members and we have well over 140,000 members on our singles site - Im sure some people would find this useful as there is never any charge for either service and we keep it very free from spammers that we found when testing other free sites. Most have a problem with this due to man power and resources and although we have little and are no exception, I personally sit here all day and weed them out and it works!
God bless
Ed.
hisholyspace.com is pretty good too.
A new up and coming UK Site is http://www.ukchristians.net.
We have some great features on the site and it is well worth checking out.
Thank you for providing such a comprehensive list. I look forward to visiting these sites and learning more about them. Recently, I created a social network for Christian women using the Ning platform that is growing rapidly. As a “newbie” to social networking, I am impressed with the plethora of sites that focus on the Christianity. Thanks!
You missed one! For Christian artists bands and fans check out The 5000 Music Group at http://www.the5000music.com today!
Have You Heard Of http://www.myjesusnexus.com ?? They are fairly new and I enjoy their site.
Another site is http://www.gracealley.com
Please include Livekite.com. Livekite is a Christian groups-based site that breaches the age gap of social networking. Livekite is user friendly and always evolving.
That is an awesome list. Thanks for sharing !!! I will use it to promote my non profit organization to christians.
This list is a bit outdated. A few in the list are no longer on-line. Here are a couple to add to the list:
http://www.FaithItUp.com
http://www.HisHolySpace.com

Livekite.com has launched a free online community for Christian Groups. Livekite is more about group communication that “Friend collecting”. Livekite gives you all the tools to create a fully customized online community for your church. Post blogs, photos, videos, podcasts all within your desired privacy level.
Apparently there is now a really cool site just for Christian teenagers called http://www.teengrace.net.
It is definitely worth checking out !
[...] http://www.churchtechreview.com/church-other-technology/the-list-of-christian-social-networks/ [...]
Great post.. I have put a link on my blog linking to you!
Just adding another option to the list: http://www.oikoshq.com. Oikos is a little different than some of the Christian social networking sites in that it is a solution to set up a private password-protected social community site for your church. Any organization can use it (not just churches), but the idea is that it keeps out people that perhaps shouldn’t be there (think teen safety) and can help increase and build community within an existing social organization.
Oikos is also great for missionary organizations, cell churches, small groups, and anyone that wants to stay connected online. Here’s a good example of how The Father’s House (http://www.tfhny.org) in New York uses Oikos. Feel free to login as a guest and check it out:

You forgot our site, http://www.faithlight.com . But that’s ok, we’re very new and unknown for now ;) . A lot of sites are trying to become the next Christian MySpace but I guess whatever facilitates a good religious community will be the most popular eventually when this all settles down.
Faithlight.com has also been around for a while and is another Christian MySpace site. Quite a lot of Christian Social Networking sites these days.
I think http://www.ukchristians.net is a great social network for Christians in the UK. They have loads of cool features on the site and unlike smaller sites with little or low activity, over 2,000 members to keep it alive.
Well worth a visit…
I think thedesperate.com is a really cool Christian network, and it is growing

IAmTheDesperate
http://www.FaithOut.com is great it’s like a Christian facebook!
I mean check it out and see if it’s not just like the good old Facebook we loved from the start.
Massive 2009 release to the christian community. Churchopolis kick starts its year of a great social network for christians. Own personal profile view others make new friends and much more.
come join today http://www.churchopolis.com
and tell us about yourself and get to know loads more people :D
or simply just stop by and check out the community and say hello.
See you all there.
Hi Guys
I see that our site was also omitted from “the list”. We are very young and membership is quite low at the moment, but that is set to change. We believe in quality over quantity - and also that wherever the Word of God goes out, it will not return void.
I use holypal.com they have facebook like chat so that is cool
I would say that praize.com should be removed since it is not a social networking site but more of a yahoo! type site
I had no idea there were so many christian social-networks. Nice, very nice!
PLANET SAVED CHRISTIAN SOCIAL NETWORK is worth trying out. We are on a mission to network Christians.
Please include http://www.faithlight.com in your list, another free online Christian Social networking website. Quite a lot of them these days!
There is a Christian Social Network called http://www.planetsaved.com. It is really a cool Christian advertising website. I actually use it to network with my Christian Music studio.
I personally like the PLANET SAVED website I found while browsing. I don’t know too much about it. I believe they are working to become a Facebook for ministry. I haven’t joined yet.
Check out http://www.WeGather.com - Our church just signed up for it and we are happy with the product.
Joe
:O how could you leave OurLordsFriends.com off? :)
Here’s a site for Christian Women Entrepreneurs.
http://www.acwentrepreneurs.ning.com
Thanks.
